My most favorite investment for this fall was the Dior Persia Ankle pump from the Dior Fall 2009 collection. Available at the Dior boutiques only in a violet and black. I opted for the violet. And these, to me, are truly a work of art. Everything from the horn heel, the textured calf-skin leather, and the detailed tassel with the Dior "D". Not necessarily the most comfortable shoe, but certainly a beautiful one and also tres chic! There are literally only 12 available in the United States. If you happen to come upon them, get them! They truly are an investment. Look at them! I mean come on! Just insanity!

Classic from the Closet
I've decided to do a weekly feature called "Classic from the Closet." In this new economy, NOT shopping your closet would be considered frivolous. With that, I went into my closet and pulled out these Christian Louboutin boots from Fall 2007 appropriately called "Pretty Woman." The boot is a classic black leather boot with a 100 mm heel. Not only a classic, but a basic in the fashionista's closet. You can pair black leather boots with practically ANYTHING! A skirt suit for an extra touch of toughness; t-shirt and skirt (like the one I am wearing in these pictures); a hoodie and jeans! Anything!!!
Not only a classic, but I also get more attention from the men-folk when I wear these boots. It's not hard to figure out why
men are fascinated with a pair of black boots and the Louboutin red bottom. Like Christian Louboutin has said of his red-soled shoes, "When men see red, that means go." I'm hoping that the Los Angeles weather cools down even more so I can wear these beautiful babies! Until next time! Smooches xoxo

Get them now? Or wait for the sale?
I've been looking (and lusting) for so many of the fall/winter 2009 shoes. In this "new economy", spending over a certain amount of money on unnecessary items such as shoes may seem superficial. But alas, while I feel for those without employment or for those who have a hard time making ends meet, those of us who still can afford some of the nicer things should continue doing so--while one can. I'm finding that should I want to spend a crazy amount of money on shoes, I want shoes that are extraordinary, special, unusual, pieces that other women may have never seen before. However, I do want shoes that will be relevant, fashionable, and wearable today and 10 years from now.
So with all of that said, the shoe I'm currently debating on purchasing are the Dior Cartagena sandal. This shoe is so special with the horn-shaped heel. It is but one of the runway shoes from the Dior Fall collection. The other runway shoes being the Persia Ankle pump, which is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find. So looking at the Cartagena--it is a beautiful shoe decorated with silver studs set in nappa leather and black suede. The price tag? How about $1,260? That's a mortgage payment, or rent, a car payment, or a washer and dryer for some. I'm trying to save up for a condo so I mentioned the washer and dryer:-) But those shoes are everyday art that would be on my feet! Also, I need some attention grabbing shoes to catch me a husband! If I do wait for these shoes to go on sale, the Dior boutiques, Bergdorf, Neiman, and Saks may have sold out by sale time (which will be right before Thanksgiving) and that's a month and a half away! Well, we'll see. If I'm meant to have them--on sale--they will be around in November. Everyone cross your fingers for me:-) Smooches!!

It's been awhile!
Hey Folks!
I know it has been awhile since I've last posted, but I think I needed to go into my "castle" and just have some time for me. You know when men need to go into their "cave" and just isolate themselves from everyone they love? Well, I needed to go into my castle... However, once I emerged I went to the Jak and Jil blog and saw THE most amazing pair of Christian Louboutin booties called Nitoinimoi (and if I can recall from my 5 years of French, I believe it means 'Neither you nor me'). Well, unfortunately, what I see, I want! As much as I wanted to wait for these "beauty booties" to go on sale, I was informed by many Louboutin sales associates that the Royal Blue version I coveted fron the J & J blog would be a virtual rarity on this side of the world. So with that in mind, I bit the bullet and bought myself the Nitoinimoi as a very early Christmas and Birthday present. I am trying to save for a condo, so I hope that this ankle bootie will be it for a VERY VERY long time! But I SO LOVE these shoes!!! And, surprisingly? They are very comfortable. I hope for those of you who have found this blog that you enjoy the pictures! Smooches XOXOXOXO!!!

Louboutin or Atwood?
Well, the first day back from a wonderful extended weekend! What's great about weeks such as this week is that Wednesday just arrives that much faster--YAY!!! I have so much to look forward to tomorrow! First it's Wednesday AND a special Brian McKnight concert that I get to attend. Luckily, I found a date! I know what dress I'm wearing. The dress was on sale at BCBG at 50% off the ticketed price and then ANOTHER 30% off. When everything was said and done, the dress came out to $50--not bad, ehh?
Now, for the shoes? I'm a little torn. I was thinking my Brian Atwood Lola shoes (top photo) or the Louboutin Lady Page. These two shoes were my two investments for the fall... And that's it! However, Fashion's Night out is this Thursday (see the September 7th post). Anyway, what shoe to wear? Lady Page, Lola, or the the Alaia's sleeping in my closet. I also have to keep in mind that I will have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the venue. I love those Lady Page's but as I sit and type this blog, I realize how uncomfortable the shoes are. They are gorgeous shoes, though. However, in 10 years when I pull them out of my closet, they will still be beautiful. Sigh... Shoe Love... Well, I'll have to decide tonight which shoes, but then I always change my mind. Chat tomorrow! Smooches!

New blogger on the block!
Well, it's Labor Day September 7th and I'm typing up my very first blog. Like most people, I have the day off today and then thankfully (that I'm still employed) back on the job tomorrow. There are so many things I have to think about this week. There is a full week of work ahead and get ready for the Brian McKnight event being held by one of the local Los Angeles TV stations. Oh, also, the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and Vogue is sponsoring "Fashion's Night Out" on September 10th. All Neiman Marcus stores will participate in this evening and will be open until 9pm that night--at least the one in Beverly Hills. From what I understand, NM will be selling Fashion Night Out T-shirts and 40% of the proceeds from the sale of those shirts will be donated to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
So please bear with me as I'm just getting used to being a blogger. I'll be back tomorrow... I'm getting my outfit (and when I mean outfit--I really do mean the shoes) ready for the Brian McKnight event this Wednesday. Smooches!
